SAISD Students of the Month for October

Elementary:

The Pre-K Student of the Month for October is Osvaldo Rojas. Osvaldo is the son of Ana Delia Gallegos and Alfonso Rojas. He has three older sisters who he loves to play with and who read to him. He always follows the rules and is a good friend to everyone in his class. He is an outstanding role model. He can count to 59 and knows all the upper case letters. When he is home, he loves horses and playing outside and watching Paw Patrol.  Mrs. Crouch and Ms. Jodi are so proud of the progress he has made and know that he will be successful in his future.

Mrs. Jami Birdwell recommends Jamarii Ratcliff for the Kindergarten Student of the Month for October.  Jamarii is the 5 year old son of Jackie Hurts and Marlon Ratcliff.  He works very hard and follows the rules. He always does what is asked of him. He listens during class and does his work on his own. Jamarii shows respect for his peers and all his teachers and sets an excellent example for the other students.  Jamarii’s  role models include his momma, daddy, nanny and pawpaw. When he grows up he would like to be a police officer to help other kids and people. Mrs. Jami says that she feels very blessed to have a student such as Jamarii. She feels honored to have him in her class and she knows that he will be successful in the years to come.

The 1st grade Student of the Month for October is Briahna Garrett. Briahna is a very sweet, smart, hard working and well mannered young lady.  She enjoys riding her bike and playing in her treehouse. Her favorite subject is Math.  Briahna is the daughter of Demeko and Chudney Garrett. She is in Mrs. Pahal's homeroom.

The 2nd grade Student of the Month for October is Tindall Roberts. Tindall is a sweet student who is always eager to learn, and ask questions and tries her best on everything. Her favorite subject is Math. When she grows up she wants to be a dance instructor.  After school, Tindall likes to watch TV and play with her sister. She is the daughter of Rodney and Rene Roberts. Tindall is in Mrs. Jenny Tanner’s homeroom.

The 3rd Grade Student of the Month is TyMorian Cartwright. Tymorian is a very respectful and courteous young man.  He is always willing to help his classmates and to assist his teachers in any way he can. His favorite subject is Math. His favorite foods are hamburgers, french fries, and pizza.  In his spare time he enjoys video games, watching TV, playing outside and spending  time with his family.  TyMorian likes to play all types of sports, his favorite is football and basketball and when he grows up he wants to be a football player. He is a member of China Chapel Baptist Church. TyMorian is the son of Kendrick Brooks and LaQuisha Cartwright, and the Grandson of Samuel and Wilma Brooks, and Donna Cartwright.

The 4th grade Student of the Month for October is A’nesiya Burrell. A’nesiyah is a very caring, hardworking, and dedicated student. Her teachers rely on her for outstanding behavior and excellent academics. Her favorite subject is writing. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her friends. A’nesiya is the daughter of Emily Price and Patrick Jackson, and  Robert Burrell. A’nesiya is in Mrs. Becky Whitton's homeroom.

The 5th grade Student of the Month for October is Brianna Williams. Brianna is a hardworking and well mannered young lady. She strives to do her best in everything. She is kind and friendly to everyone. Her favorite subject is Math. In her spare time she enjoys singing and reading. When she grows up she would like to be a teacher. Brianna is the daughter of LaQuita and Brian Williams. Brianna is in Mrs. Davana Dixon’s homeroom.

High School:

The 6th grade Student of the Month for October is Jessica Jacobs.  Jessica is the daughter of Scott and Tammie Jacobs.  Her favorite subect is Language Arts.  Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Mary Whittlesey because she is strict and wants everyone to do good in school so that they will become smarter. Jessica is involved in UIL and beginner band and wants to be a majorette when she gets in High School.  She plans to go to college but hasn't decided what she wants to study.

The 7th grade Student of the Month for October is Demariess Blackshire.  Damariess is the son of Kimberly Lacy.  His favorite subject is Texas History.  His favorite teacher is Coach Joush Morris because he is a great teacher.  Damariess is involved in football and band.  He plans on going to college and becoming a doctor.

The 8th grade Student of the Month for October is Pedro Bahena-Molina.  Pedro is the son of Guadalup Molina and Pedro Bahena.  His favorite subject is Math.  His favorite teacher is Mrs. Jesica Herrera because he can understand her and she explains the lessons well.  He is involved in HS Band, football and track. Pedro plans to attend college and become a doctor.

The 9th grade Student of the Month for October is Martavian Garrett.  Martavian is the son of Terrance Garrett and Evette Garrett.  His favorite subject is Math and Coach Tory Barnes is his favorite teacher because he keeps him smiling.  Martavian is involved in football, basketball and track.  He plans to go to college and become a welder and pipeliner.

The 10th grade Student of the Month for October Quentavion Holman.  Quentavion is the son of Stacey and Tyrone Holman.  His favorite subject is IPC.  Mr. Jesse Harrison is his favorite teacher because he is very helpful and is a good teacher.  Quentavion is involved in football, basketball, baseball and FFA.  He plans to go to college and become a professional welder.

 The 11th grade Student of the Month for October is Jakira Hewitt.  Jakira is the daughter of Dimetrice Holman and Jermaine Hewitt.  Her favorite subjects are Math and Physics.  Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Josue because she cares about her students and their grades and is works hard to explain her lessons to make sure that everyone understands it. Jakira is involved in college classes, Ladies League, archery, 4-H, Students Council, plays softball in the summer and is a majorette in the HS Band.  She plans to attend Sam Houston or Stephen F. Austin and get a bachelor's degree in animal science and then continue working towards a doctorate degree.

The 12th grade Student of the Month for October is Cardell Moore.  Cardell is the son of Caster and Dian Moore.  His favorite subject is Math.  Mrs. Terri Mathews is his favorite teacher because she makes sure everyone understands the situations now and also helps prepare us for the future.  Cardell plays basketball and helps out the school technology department. He plans to attend college but hasn't decided what he plans to major in.
