December Students of The Month!

Elementary:

The Pre-K Student of the Month for December is Brayden Morris. Brayden is better known as “B”!  B is a wonderful student and little boy. He knows all his letters and numbers and can count to 120. He is a very good storyteller and has lots of wonderful stories which we all love listening too. He is very helpful to his classmates, and is a friend to everyone. Mrs. Chronda Williams says that she is very proud of him and is so glad that he is in her class.  He is the son of Tina and Coach Joush Morris.

Mrs. Jessica Lott would like to recommend Giovanny Cortes as December’s Student of the Month for Kindergarten. Giovanny is a great student who listens well and works very hard in and outside the classroom, he also follows directions, works well with others and is a helpful friend. His favorite book to read is Green Eggs and Ham.  Mrs. Lott feels very blessed to have Giovanny in her class. Giovanny is the 6 year old son of Claudia Covarrubias and Ismael Cortes.

The 1st grade Student of the Month for December is Daijon Henderson. Daijon is the 6 year old son of Simone and Vanthony Henderson. He is a wonderful student to have in class, he works hard and makes excellent grades. He is always ready to assist the teachers and his classmates when they need help. Daijon is a great reader, and mathematician. His favorite thing about school is reading.  When he grows up he wants to play for the Dallas Cowboys!  His teacher, Mrs. Anissa Smith, said that she is very blessed to have Daijon in her class.

The 2nd grade Student of the Month for December is Chelsea Johnson. Chelsea is a big helper in the classroom and is very responsible.  She does her work and does it well. Chelsea’s favorite subject is Math, and in her free time she enjoys playing basketball with her sisters and cousins. Her favorite color is pink. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher!  Ms. Jennifer Smith thinks she would be an amazing teacher! Chelsea is the daughter of Chris and Latashia Johnson.

The 3rd grade Student of the Month for December is Raylynn Renfro. Raylynn is a sweet, soft spoken, kind, and very trustfull young lady. She is a hard worker in the classroom and her grades reflect that. Her favorite subject is Science, and when she grows up she would like to be a Veterinarian. In her spare time she enjoys reading, playing Minecraft, playing with her animals, and cooking. Her favorite thing to cook is a cake.  She has 2 sisters and 1 brother. Raylynn is the daughter of Kimberly Jefferson, and she is in Ms. Linda Skadowski’s homeroom.

The 4th grade Student of the Month for December is Michael Harris. We are proud of Michael for his hard work and excellent behavior. He has worked hard to change his attitude and actions to be a source of pride for the 4th Grade teachers at SAES.  His favorite subject is Reading. He loves to read jokes and folk tales. He also loves sports, and loves football the most. He plays quarterback on his team and wants to play for the high school when he gets old enough. His goal for his adult life is to be a police officer and help the community be safe. He wants everyone to know that he is capable of many things, and that his teachers can rely on him.  Mrs. Tiffany Lozoya, Mrs. Maureen Carlton, and Ms. Becky Whitten are thankful that they have the opportunity to be Michael's teachers. Michael is the son of Erica Teel.

The 5th grade teachers are very proud to nominate Olivia Crowder as the 5th grdae Student of the Month for December. Olivia is the 10 year old daughter of Beverly Hall and Anthony Crowder. She has two older brothers and one younger brother. She moved to San Augustine from Mansfield, Louisiana and has been a wolf pup for 2 years. This is her second year to be chosen as Student of the Month. She enjoys twirling and drawing, and her favorite subject is Math. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor. She represents UIL in Spelling and Music Memory. She is a very studious young lady and we are confident that she will attain all of her dreams. Thank You for helping us recognize Olivia and all of her accomplishments. Her teachers are Ashley Burks, Davana Dixon, and Jennifer Morton.

High School:

The 6th grade Student of the Month for December is JaToryia Barnes.  JaToryia is the daughter of Jacqueline and Tory Barnes.  Her favorite subject is geography.  She is very athletic and is very good in gymnastics.  JaToryia plans to attend Stephen F. Austin and study to be a teacher like her parents and possibly even become a hair stylist.

The 7th grade Student of the Month for December is Sayde Miller.  Sayde is the daughter of Jade and Ben Miller.  Her favorite subject in school is English.  She is involved in 4-H and band.  She also enjoys playing the piano.  Sayde plans to go to college and then later own her own business.

The 8th grade Student of the Month for December is Kylar Hargrove.  Kylar is the son of Jaki and Clay Hargrove.  His favorite subjects are Math and English.  He in involved in 4-H, CVA Firearms, football and basketball.  Kylar plans to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, become a game warden and own his own deer lease.

The 9th grade Student of the Month for December is Torrence Borders.  Torrence is the daughter of Alanna Borders.  Her favorite subjects are Math and Reading.  She is in Student Council and is a part of the Lady Wolves Athletics where she is involved in volleyball, basketball and track. Torrence plans to go to college to become a physical therapist so that she can support her family.

The 10th grade Student of the Month for December is Emile Mendoza-Yanez. Emile is the daughter of Martha Yanez and Juan Mendoza.  Her favorite subject is Chemistry and English.  She is involved in Interact, Ladies League and UIL.  She plans to graduate from High School in the Top 5 of her class.  She hopes to get a full scholarship to SFA and become a neonatal nurse or something in the medical field.

The 11th grade Student of the Month for December is Christian Studdard.  Christian is the son of Jennifer and Charles Studdard.  His favorite subject is Culinary Arts.  He is involved in FCLA and Student Council.  He enjoys watching scary movies and playing video games.  Christian plans to go to college for culinary.

The 12th grade Student of the Month for December is Maria Sanchez Cano.  Maria is the daughter of J. Leonardo Sanchez and Amparo Sanchez. Her favorite classes are ESL and Animation.  In her free time she enjoys reading and shopping.  Maria plans to go to Angelina or Panola college to work on her degree to becoming a teacher.
