SAISD - February Students of the Month
Elementary:
The Pre-K Student of the Month for February is Antwon Davis. Antwon was chosen because he is a very good listener and obeys the rules. When he is given directions, he is quick to follow them, and he is a good and helpful friend to others in the class. Antwon is the son of Jaleesa Bluford and Antwon Davis Sr. and is in Mrs. Sylvia Nielson's class.
The Kindergarten Student of the Month for February is Brooklyn Barnes. Brooklyn is a great student who always works very hard in all she does. Brooklyn is a friend to everyone, and is always encouraging others to do their best. Her teacher, Mrs Heidi Pritchett, says she is very proud of her accomplishments and appreciates her enthusiasm and determination. It is a joy to see her smiling face every morning, and I am very proud to have her in my Kindergarten class. Brooklyn is the daughter of Tory and Jacqueline Barnes.
The 1 st grade Student of the Month for February is Fatima Palacios. Fatima listens well and is very well behaved. She enjoys learning and is a great help to others. Her most favorite subject is P.E. and in her spare time she enjoys playing outside with her dog JoJo, playing basketball, and jumping rope. When she grows up she would like to be a vet. Fatima is the daughter of Maria Labrada and Enrique Palacios. Fatima is in Ms. Carol Cartwright's homeroom.
The 2nd grade Student of the Month for February is Synia Garner. Synia is the daughter of Alex and Ideria
Garner. She is an excellent student and her favorite subjects are Math and Reading. After school she enjoys playing outside with her dog and her brother. When she grows up she would like to be a teacher. Synia is in Mrs. Paula Whiteman's homeroom.
The 3rd grade teachers are very proud to announce Diana Davila as the Student of the Month for February. Diana is the eight year old daughter of Juan and Lydia Davila. Her favorite subject in school is Math, and in her spare time she enjoys reading. When she grows up she would like to be a dentist.
The 4 th grade teachers are very proud to announce Denise Gonzales-Contreras as the Student of the Month for February. Denise is an outstanding student that takes her education very seriously. She also does her best. She is a kind and loving person to her friends and her teachers. Her favorite subject is Reading and her favorite sport is soccer. Denise wants everyone to know that she makes good grades, and one thing about her is that she loves her family. Her family is the most important thing in the world to her. Denise is the daughter of Tomas Gonzales and Beatriz Contreras Gonzales.
The 5th grade teachers are very proud to announce Xitlaly Salazar Lopez as the Student of the Month for February. Xitlaly is a very respectful, and sweet young lady. She the daughter of Eduardo and Elvia Salazar. She has been a wolfpup at San Augustine Elementary since PK. Her favorite subject is Science, and in her spare time she enjoys playing volleyball. When she grows up she would like to be a Biologist. Mrs. Morton, Mrs. Burks, and Mrs. Dixon are all delighted to have Xitlaly representing the fifth grade class.

The 6th grade Student of the Month for February is Edgar Yanez. Edgar is the son of Jackie Carmona and Juan Yanez. His favorite class is athletics. He enjoys playing football and running. Edgar plans to go to college and work in construction.
The 7th grade Student of the Month for February is Terrica Giles. Terrica is the daughter of Lanieca Shonta Williams and Tavoris Giles. Her favorite subject is Math and she is participates in athletics. Terrica would like to attend college and is considering becoming a doctor.
The 8th grade Student of the Month for February is Tyranequa Johnson. Tyranequa is the daughter of Miranda and Eric Walker. Her favorite subject is Reading. She is involved in cheerleading and athletics. Tyranequa plans to go to college and become a pediatric nurse.
The 9th grade Student of the Month for February is Benjamin Jones. Ben is the son of Calvin Jones. His favorite class is PE. He enjoys playing video games and hunting in his free time. Ben plans to work with his dad when he graduates.
The 10th grade Student of the Month for February is Keona Johnson. Keona is the daughter of LaKeshia Davis and Greg Johnson. Her favorite subject is Math and she is involved in FCCLA. Keona plans to go to college and become a nurse.
The 11th grade Student of the Month for February is JaQuadric Johnson. JaQuadric is the son of Renauida Handy and Erick Johnson. His favorite subject is Math and he participates in athletics. JaQuadric plans to attend college and play football.
The 12th grade Student of the Month for February is America Cabriales. America is the daughter of Claudia and Gabriel Cabriales. Her favorite classes are Forensic Science and Band. She is involved in UIL Academics, Band, DECA, Ladies League, Student Council and Jazz Band. America plans to go to Panola College and get a degree
in nursing.
