SAISD Students of the Month for September

Elementary

The Pre-K Student of the Month for September is Gionno Cortes. He is in Mrs. Lisa Crouch and Ms. Jodi Hoffman’s homeroom. He is five years old and knows all the upper and lower case letters, and can count to 100. He enjoys playing in the block center, working puzzles, and learning in the iPad station. His favorite thing is singing. He has one brother, Giovanny, who is in the 1st grade. He is the son of Ismael Cortes and Claudia Covarrubias.

The Kindergarten Student of the Month for September is Alexis Bratchett. Alexis is the daughter of LaKasha Bratchett. Alexis wants everyone to know that she is very smart, and that she helps out her classmates when they need it. Her favorite subject is Reading and her favorite food is yogurt. Alexis is in Mrs. Kelly Beall’s homeroom.

The 1st grade Student of the Month for September is Jadynn McClelland.  Jadynn enjoys going skating and playing with her baby brother Kingston and her big sister Khandice.  At school she likes to play outside and her favorite subject is Art.  Jadynn is the daughter of Crystal Titus and DeCarlo McClelland.  She is in Mrs. Jenny Tanner’s homeroom.

The 2nd grade Student of the Month for September is Daishaun Brooks. Daishaun is the son of Noreeka Brooks. Daishaun says that he likes everything about school, and he likes all subjects. When he grows up he wants to be a lawyer. In his spare time he enjoys watching YouTube videos with his older brother. Daishaun is in Mrs. Lisa Ainsworth’s homeroom.

The 3rd grade Student of the Month for September is D’Adrian Renfro. D’Adrian is very well behaved and is a very polite young man.  His favorite subject is P.E., and he enjoys playing football and basketball. When he grows up he would like to be a Football Coach. D’Adrian is the son of Angie Crawford and Michael Renfro, and he is the oldest grandson of Maryann Renfro. D’Adrian is in Mrs. Linda Skadowski’s homeroom.

The 4th grade Student of the Month for September is Omarion Jenkins. Omarion is an excellent student! He is someone that his teachers can rely on to behave and take on extra responsibilities. His grades have been very good, and his teachers are very proud of him. His favorite subject is Science, but he also loves Math. In his spare time he enjoys playing basketball and football. Omarion wants everyone to know that he has set some high goals for himself and intends to meet them. He also loves his family very much! Omarion is the son of Leslie Holman, and the grandson of Maryann Holman. He is in Mrs. Tiffany Lozoya’s homeroom.

The 5th grade Student of the Month for September is Ruby Rubio. Ruby is the 10 year old daughter of Juan and Sofia Rubio. Ruby’s favorite subject is Math, (she enjoys division). She is the middle child, she has one older brother, and one younger brother and one sister who lives in Mexico with her Grandparents. After school she enjoys watching TV and playing with her younger brother. When Ruby grows up she would like to be an Architect. Ruby is in Mrs. Kay Little’s homeroom.

High School

The 6th grade Student of the Month for September is Destiny Smith.  Destiny is the daughter of Antwone and Chrisynithia Smith.  Her favorite subject is Speech and she loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys being outside playing football and playing with her dogs.  Destiny is in the 6th grade band.  She plans on going to Stephen F. Austin when she finishes High School and plans to get a job where she can help make a difference in the world and also help her family out.

The 7th grade Student of the Month for September is Elisa Rodriguez-Yańez.  Elisa is the daughter of Martha Yańez and Juan Rodriguez Reza.  Her favorite subject is science and she enjoys watching Netflix movies and hanging out with her family.  Elisa is involved in volleyball and middle school band.  When she finishes high school, she plans to attend Stephen F. Austin to become a social worker or possibly work toward getting a degree to become a veterinarian.

The 8th grade Student of the Month for September is Dulce Olalde-Velazquez.  Dulce is the daughter of Fermin Olalde and Elizabeth Velazquez.   Her favorite subject is math and she loves to read and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She is a member of the SAHS Band.  When she finishes high school, she plans to attend Stephen F. Austin and work on a degree to become a dentist.

The 9th grade Student of the Month for September is Kellie Griffin.  Kellie is the daughter of Kimberly and Billy Griffin.  Her favorite subject is biology and she enjoys twirling, watching Netflix, playing with her nephews and doing makeup.  She is involved in Student Council, UIL, FFA and Theatre Arts. She is also a member of the SAHS Band and a majorette.  Kellie plans to attend Rice University or Stephen F. Austin to become a teacher or a psychologist.

The 10th grade Student of the Month for September is LaKendria Jenkins.  LaKendria is the daughter of Farlesha Simmons and Kendrick Jenkins.  Her favorite subject is English and she enjoys watching football, drawing and listening to music.  She is a member of the SAHS Band.  LaKendria plans to go to college and major in graphic design.

The 11th grade Student of the Month for September is Hannah Garcia.  Hannah is the daughter of Ryan and Yolanda Garcia.  Her favorite subject is math and she enjoys sports and music.  Hannah is the President of the SAHS Ladies League, Vice-President of Interact, Vice-President of Tri-M, and a member of the National Honor Society.  She is also involve in UIL, band and athletics. Hannah plans to attend either Texas A&M University or Yale University to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering.

The 12th grade Student of the Month for September is QuenTyvian Borders.  QuenTyvian is the son of Sharon Crockett.  His favorite subject is math and he enjoys spending time with his friends and working out.  QuenTyvian is a member of the National Honor Society and plays football, basketball, baseball and also runs track.  He plans to attend college to play football and work on a degree to become an orthopedic doctor.
