How would you describe yourself?

I am very persistent and love the work I do with children. I love working with people and setting and accomplishing goals in a collaborative way. I rarely have a "bad" day!

What has changed about San Augustine ISD/High School since you graduated?

A lot has changed since I graduated in 1971.  The building is much more bright and colorful than I remember.  The halls are decorated with student work and there is so much activity. Teachers are still hard at work as I remember from my past, and students are still learning and getting prepared for life away from SAISD.

How do you handle the stress and pressure of being Superintendent?

I love being the Superintendent at San Augustine ISD.  Any stress or pressure that I feel quickly leaves when I think about how much the students in this district mean to me.

What comes to mind when you think about San Augustine?

I think about my home and the rich history of this city.  I think about just how much I have always loved San Augustine.

What made you want to come back to San Augustine?

I always knew that I would come home to San Augustine when I was older. I got here a little sooner than I thought I would, but I would not go back to the big city for anything.

What is one thing you wish you did when you were in high school?

Are there any high school achievements you would like to share?

I was very busy in High School. I was in the band, a twirler, drum major, and was in many activities throughout the years.

What is it about San Augustine students that makes them stand out?

San Augustine students stand out everywhere they go.  They are respectful, kind, and smart. They never, ever give up. They make me so proud.

Dr. Liepman wants everyone to know the she always makes every effort to share with the community all the great things that happen in SAISD.
