My Mission

As School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, personal, and social development of all students.  I look forward to offering support to students, staff, families, and community members.

My goal is to create a positive and supportive environment conducive to learning and success.  Please know that I am dedicated in making every possible effort to make certain that all students receive as much personal assistance as possible to ensure that their years at San Augustine High School are productive and meaningful.



Como la Consejera Escolar, mi responsabilidad primordial es promover el desarrollo académico, social y personal de todos los estudiantes.  Estaré ofreciendo siempre el mejor apoyo a estudiantes, maestros, familias y miembros de la comunidad.

Mi objetivo es crear un entorno positivo y propicio para el aprendizaje y el éxito.  Quiero que sepan que estoy dedicada en hacer todo el esfuerzo posible para asegurarme que todos los estudiantes reciban la mayor atención como sea posible para asegurar que sus años en la Escuela Preparatoria San Augustine (San Augustine High School) sea productiva y significativa.

Seniors: Apply Texas Workshop

A representative from Angelina College will be on campus Monday, October 12th during 7th period to assist any senior who would like help with the ApplyTexas application.  This workshop will take place after the recruiting visit.

Seniors: Angelina College Recruiting Visit

A representative from Angelina College will be on campus Monday, October 12th during 6th period in the library to visit with all seniors.

Homecoming Vote after LeTourneau Visit

After the LeTourneau visit tomorrow ballots will be handed out.  Seniors will choose four boys and four girls from a list of seniors.  The top four nominees will represent the senior class in homecoming activities.  All nominees must be cleared by administration for discipline and/or attendance issues.
Make sure you make the LeTourneau visit!!!!

Senior Recruiting Visit-LeTourneau University

A representative from LeTourneau University will be on campus Wednesday, September 16th at 1:45 p.m. to visit with seniors. 
All seniors will report to the library at that time.  If you have a job, please make arrangements to stay during 7th period.

Army Lunch Visit Schedule

Staff Sergeant Jason Calhoun from the U.S. Army will be on campus during lunch on the following dates:
September 24th
October 8th
October 22nd
November 5th
Also remember that I will be happy to set up individual consultations upon request.

Upcoming College Recruiting Visits-Seniors

September 23rd:  Texas State Technical College-Marshall:  6th period in the library.
November 2nd:  Texas A&M University-Texarkana:  6th period in the library

Scholarship: Sons of the Republic of Texas

This scholarship is available for any graduating senior.  Each applicant must submit an original essay over the topic, "The Battle San Jacinto and Texas Independence."  First award:  $4000; second award $3000; and third award $2000.  Deadline:  January 31, 2016.  

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program

Created in 1995 to recognize students in middle and high school grades who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.    Open to students in grades 5-12.

Scholarships--Senior Specific

Seniors:  have you checked out the following scholarship opportunities on the E-Scholarship website?
Wendy's High School Heisman:
Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women entering their senior year of high school who have at least a 3,0 grade average and participate in at least one of the 27 sports officially sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools. Must have achieved excellence in academics, athletics, and community/school involvement. One male and one female will be chosen from each school. Deadline:  October 2, 2015
Horatio Alger Scholarship:
U.S. citizen. High school Senior. For students who have overcome major obstacles in their life, have a commitment to use their college degrees in service to others and demonstrate financial need.  Amount: $22,000
Deadline:  October 25, 2015
