Anna Sharp
My name is Anna Sharp. I am the Special Education Director for San Augustine ISD. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and for the opportunity to work with your child. I firmly believe that a home/school partnership is necessary for the success of our students. Research and experience show us that a parent’s/guardian’s involvement in a child’s education is directly related to his/her success in school. To maximize your child’s success, emphasize the importance of education through the following:
- Ensure that your child is at school on time each day.
- Attend parent/teacher conferences and school events.
- Monitor your child’s homework daily.
- Expect and support positive behavior at school.
- Read with your child or encourage your child to read daily.
With that being said, I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (1997), a Master of Arts in School Counseling (2001), and received my Principal Certification through Region IV Education Service Center in 2015. I have lived in San Augustine all of my life, graduating SAHS in 1981. I married John F. Sharp in 1984 and we have 3 beautiful daughters, Jami, Casi, and Jodi. I am also blessed with 5 precious grandchildren, Lynnley, Aniston, Aubrey, Jace and Easton. I love animals, the outdoors, and any kind of adventure. My favorite sports are football (go Cowboys), NASCAR and rodeo.
I have a passion to help young people reach their potential academically, emotionally and socially. I am dedicated to insuring that a foundation is built for the success and happiness of all of our students.
Looking forward to a great year,
Anna Sharp
