September Students Of The Month!

San Augustine Elementary:

The Pre-K Student of the Month is Laken Grace Hinton. One of the things Mrs. Crouch has learned about Laken is that she is very honest and that she can always rely on her to tell the truth. She is very active and likes to play on the swing set and trampoline at home. She enjoys reading with her big sister Harley and playing with puzzles. She enjoys spending time with friends and going to church at the San Augustine County Cowboy Church. Laken is the daughter of Jason Hinton and Leslie Hinton.

The Kindergarten Student of the Month is DaCaeden Williams, the son of Mike and Raishun Randle. DeCaeden is an excellent student. He works very hard and follows the rules and does what his teacher asks him to do. He listens during class, and does his work on his own. He shows respect for his peers and all teachers. He understands what “honesty” means. He always has a smiling face when he comes to school and gives his teacher Mrs. Parker hugs and tells her thank you for being a good teacher! She feels very blessed and honored to have a student such as DeCaeden in her class and knows that he will be successful in the years to come.

The 1st grade Student of the Month is Angel Danny Mendoza. Danny is the son of Jaime Mendoza and Mary Moreno. Danny is a very sweet and considerate young man who works very hard in class and is a good listener. He is a good role model for the other students and is always honest, helpful, and kind. The 3rd grade Student of the Month is JaDavian Mathis. He is the son of LaTanja Greer and John Mathis.  JaDavian was chosen because of his honesty, even when he is in the wrong. One day his teacher, Ms. Fuller, had to be absent and JaDavian made some not so good choices with the substitute teacher. First thing the next morning he walked up to Ms. Fuller and told her how he had acted with the substitute, without being asked. His teacher was extremely happy that he would be forthcoming and honest with her. He understood he was wrong and has shown that he can do better. He has not had a bad day since!

The 4th grade Student of the Month is Xitlaly Lopez Salazar. Xitlaly has attended San Augustine Elementary since she was in PK3. She has a sister and two brothers. She is a good student and role model for the other 4th graders. In her spare time, she loves to read and play with her two dogs.  Xitlaly’s teachers, Mrs. Carlton, Ms. Butler, and Ms. Smith are very proud of her and hope that she will continue to show leadership and citizenship as she progresses through school.  Xitlaly is the daughter of Eduardo Lopez and Elvia Salazar.

The 5th Grade Student of the Month is Cristian Acosta. Cristian is the son of Rene Romero and Patricia Acosta.  Ms. Burks chose Cristian because he is an awesome student in all of his classes, and a student who can be counted on to do the right thing. His favorite subject is science. In his spare time he likes to be outdoors running and swimming.  At night he likes to go outside and watch the stars. He says when he grows up he wants to be a policeman.
