Bio

Dr. Virginia Doherty Liepman was born and raised in San Augustine and graduated from SAHS in 1971. She attended UT-Austin, and SFA, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She began her career as an elementary teacher, and later earned a Master of Science degree in Education and Child Psychology, and a Mid-Management Certification. 

She served as Assistant Principal and subsequently as Principal for two Pasadena ISD elementary schools. In 1998, she earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D), and founded “Color Them Gifted™” an educational consulting company focusing on identification of the gifted minority student.
 
In 2014, Dr. Liepman earned and was awarded a Superintendent Certification from the Texas State Board for Educator Certification. She has served as Superintendent for San Augustine ISD since 2014. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Region 7 Education Service Center, and is a member of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
