Sharon T. Garrett

Welcome to San Augustine ISD Food Service’s web page.  My name is Sharon T. Garrett and I am the Food Services Director.  I graduated from San Augustine High School in 1981 and attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas.  I have worked at SAISD for twenty-three years, the past nine having served as Director of Food Services.  I recently married my wonderful husband Ronald Garrett and have two daughters that I am so very proud of, Conchetta who is a Registered Nurse and Mikayla who works in Public Services and Administration in Washington DC.  I am also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren; Adyn who is starting his freshman year at San Augustine High School and Mariah who graduated from high school this past year.

No student can learn when he or she is hungry which is why my main goal as the Food Service Director is to ensure that our students start their day with a healthy and filling breakfast followed by a nutritious lunch. Also, for lunch, students have the choice of a second entrée. Our students also have the choice of Offer vs. Serve (as required by the USDA Food & Nutrition Service). My second goal is to promote a safe and healthy environment for our students, and to maintain the state guidelines for a well-balanced nutrition diet.
