April Students of the Month!

SAISD - Students of the Month for April


Elementary:


The Pre-K Student of the Month for April was Hunter Anders.  Hunter was nominated because he is definitely the most improved student in our classroom. He works so diligently and is very eager to learn. He is motivated to do well. He loves to please his teachers and is a wonderful friend to his classmates, and he is kind and generous. We have enjoyed having Hunter in our class this year! Hunter is the son of Tiffany Anders, and he is in Mrs. Melissa Yates and KaDarious Brooks’ classroom.

The Kindergarten Student of the Month for April was America Yanez. America has shown a lot of growth in the classroom this year. She has learned all of her letters and sounds, and is reading small books out loud in the classroom, and her teacher, Mrs. Kindle Parrish, feels so honored for America to receive this award. America would like to be a baby doctor when she grows up so she can take care of all the babies in the world. America is receiving the Student of the Month for her academic growth and excellent behavior in the classroom. America is the daughter of Angelica Hernandez and Angel Yanez.

The 1st grade Student of the Month for April was Riley Johnson. Riley is the daughter of Raven Deckard and Dezmond Mathis. Riley is very well behaved and very polite not just to adults but also her classmates. She is a hard worker and likes recess and P.E. the best. She enjoys watching Kim Possible and visiting with her Pawpaw. Riley is in Ms. Billie Jo Bellamy’s homeroom.

The 2nd grade Student of the Month for April was Ja’Leah Black. Ja’Leah is a wonderful and sweet student who works very hard in all her classes, she is also very well behaved. Her favorite subject is Math and in her spare time she enjoys riding her bike and jumping on her trampoline. When she grows up she would like to be a teacher. Ja’Leah is the daughter of Nakisha Bolton and Joshua Black and she is in Mrs. Kelly Beall’s homeroom.

The 3rd grade Student of the Month for April was RonTaevian Clifton. RonTaevian’s favorite subject is math, and when he grows up he would like to be a policeman so he can help people. In his spare time, he enjoys playing games. RonTaevian is the son of Tempest Roland and Ronald Clifton.

The 4th grade Student of the Month for April was Haven Malone. Haven is a hard worker and her favorite subject is writing. She loves to keep a journal and keep track of her activities. Haven also loves to cook and she often prepares breakfast for her family. She would like to let everyone know that she is a very happy person and likes to help anyone in need. Haven is the daughter of SanChesca Malone.

The 5th grade Student of the Month for April was JaVarris Barnes.  JaVarris said his favorite subject in school is reading, and he also enjoys drawing. He says that his most favorite thing about school is reading books. In the future he would like to become a veterinarian. JaVarris is the son of Angela Crawford and JaCortney Barnes, and his teachers are Mrs. Ashley Burks, Mrs. Jennifer Morton, and Ms. Jessica Fuller.

Middle School:

The 6th grade Student of the Month for April was Emaia Andrews.  Emaia is the daughter of David and Veronica Garrett. Her teachers said, “Emaia comes to class prepared and ready to try her hardest every day.  She is kind to her classmates and is always willing to help out her friends and teachers.” Emaia’s favorite subject is reading and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Brooke Mathews because she is super sweet and nice.  She is involved in cheerleading and plans to participate in basketball, volleyball and track next year. She enjoys sports, playing, dancing and singing. Emaia plans to go to SFA after high school and begin working on a degree to become a doctor.

The 7th grade Student of the Month for April was MeRyah Roland.  MeRyah is the daughter of Deconda and Travis Roland. Her teachers said, MeRyah is active in athletics: basketball, volleyball, and track.  She works hard in class and most of the time she is serious. MeRyah always uses good manners when speaking to adults and she is a pleasure to teach.” MeRyah’s favorite subject is math and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Delafield because she is a funny and nice teacher.  She is involved in athletics and band. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and drawing. MeRyah plans to go to Texas A&M at Commerce after high school and begin working on a degree to become a veterinarian.

The 8th grade Student of the Month is Gregory Martin. Greg is the son of Connie Shutter.  His teachers said, “Greg is a hard worker and a bright student. He does well in all of his classes and does a great job helping others.  We all enjoy having Greg in our classes and the effort he puts into his academics.” Greg’s favorite subject is math and his favorite teacher is Coach Morris because he is always very helpful and gives good advice.  Greg participates in athletics and he played football this year. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, rodeos, and hunting. After high school, Greg would either like to go to college at Texas A&M and play football or go to Tulsa Welding School and become a welder.

High School:

The 9th grade Student of the Month for April was Carlos Bahena. Carlos is the son of Mariluz and Alberto Bahena.  His teachers said, “Carlos Bahena can always be counted on to try his very best in the classroom and in extracurricular activities.  He is polite and respectful to everyone.” His favorite subject is reading and Mrs. Josue is his favorite teacher because she is very nice.  Carlos participates in band. In his spare time, he enjoys going fishing and playing video games. Carlos plans to go to college, but he hasn’t decided where.

The 10th grade Student of the Month for April was Yasmine Jenkins.  Yasmine is the daughter of Chad and Stephaine Jenkins. Her teachers said, “Yasmine has shown great dedication and initiative in Student Council, going above and beyond her duties as a member.  She is reliable and always willing to work. Yasmine routinely comes up with, and executes her own projects. Yasmine Jenkins is truly a leader among her peers.” Yasmine’s favorite subjects are English II and art and her favorite teachers are Mrs. Jeri Meredith and Ms. Lisa Meier because of their attitudes and class subjects.  She is involved in Student Council and her hobbies are dancing and writing. Yasmine plans to join the Air Force and then go to college.

The 11th grade Student of the Month for April was LaKeitra Davis.  LaKeitra is the daughter of Lakeshia Davis and Marcus Davis.  Mrs. Mathews said, “Miss Davis has made tremendous progress toward being a productive and focused student.  She has even made progress volunteering for everything we do in culinary arts. I am very proud her!” Her favorite subject is culinary arts and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Alicia Mathews because she is a nice and respectful teacher.  LaKeitra participated in volleyball. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, braiding hair, and singing. LaKeitra plans to go to cosmetology school after she finishes high school.

The 12th grade Student of the Month for April was Ryan Rodriquez.  Ryan is the son of Don and Tina Rodriquez. His teachers said, “Ryan is a very good student.  He always turns in his work in a timely manner, participates in classroom activities, is always engaged and well behaved in class.”  Ryan’s favorite subject is art and his favorite teacher is Ms. Lisa Meier because of her attitude. He is involved in the SAHS Art Club.  In his spare time, he enjoys drawing, writing stories, playing video games, watching horror movies and spray painting. Ryan plans to go to Angelina College first to get his core subjects out of the way and then transfer to SFA to begin working on a degree in psychology.
