October Students of the Month - High School!

The 9th grade Student of the Month for October is Victoria Garrett.  Victoria is the daughter of Demeko and Chudney Garrett. Her favorite subjects are geography and art. Her teachers said, “Victoria always comes to class with a wonderful attitude and eagerness to learn.  She works hard to complete all assignments and always makes a point to give a little extra. She is a pleasure to have in class.” Victoria plans to attend Stephen F. Austin when she graduates.

The 10th grade Student of the Month for October is Casey Nance.  Casey is the son of Kelly and Casey Nance, Sr. His favorite subjects are technology and Ag. His teachers said, “Casey is a well-rounded student who is involved in many activities on and off campus. He is involved in FFA where he is an active FFA officer and shows livestock. He is also involved in Ag Mechanics, Interact Club, U.I.L., Baseball, and is a member of the Technology Student Association.” 


The 11th grade Student of the Month for October is Lea-Marie Winkler.  Lea-Marie is our exchange student from Germany and is hosted by Sherry and Kenneth Poindexter. Her favorite subjects are Honors Algebra 2, Technology and Art.  Her teachers said, “Lea is a member of 4H and the SAHS Art Club. She is raising chickens, rabbits, and a lamb for the upcoming county show in March. Lea has also entered an art contest to be held on November 5 at the Texas Renaissance Festival. She enjoys learning about new cultures and wants to continue to travel to new places in her future. She is academically driven, artistic and likes to experience and conquer all new challenges! She is a delight to teach and an inspiration to all who know her!”

 

The 12th grade Student of the Month for October is LaKendria Jenkins.  LaKendria is the daughter of Kendrick Jenkins and Farlesha Simmons.  Her favorite subjects are Art and Pre-Calculus. Her teachers said, “LaKendria is one of the kindest and most generous students to ever set foot on the grounds of San Augustine High School. She is friendly and helpful to all students and all members of the teaching faculty. She never speaks negatively of anyone and always looks for the best in everyone. Besides being a person of impeccable integrity, LaKendria is also a hardworking and determined student. She participates in UIL Academics and has competed every year in District and Regional level tournaments.”  LaKendria plans to attend Angelina College to become a graphic designer.
