News from the Wolf Den - November 20, 2013

Congratulations, Wolf Pack football team on your win over Joaquin at the bi-district level last week, 49 to 46.  Our guys hung in for a win in the last minutes of the game and came away the victor.  The Wolves travel to Crockett this Friday to meet Mart for the Area level playoff game.

This week's "Bandsman of the Week" is Jairyle Josue, a Junior clarinet player.  You can find her picture and related write-up elsewhere in the Tribune.  Congratulations, Jairyle, and keep up the good work!

Ms. Sharon Cartwright, SAHS Counselor, is on the Web!  Ms. Cartwright has recently completed the first version of her web page, designed to provide both students and their parents with important information regarding their coursework at the high school level and scholarships and other requirements at the post-graduation level.  You can access the site from the SAISD website (www.saisd.us).  From there, "hover" the cursor over the subtitle "Departments" and click on "Counselor."

You can access a wealth of information, including student notes and parent letters.  She has also provided links to scholarship information, college planning and recent activities that might impact students.  For parents of seniors, this is a wonderful site to help you manage the process of moving your student through his/her final year and on to post-graduation life.  For all other parents and their students, this site will be invaluable in making sure your student is on the best path during high school and on to their future.

Ms. Cartwright wants to stress that this is a "living" site - new information and links will be added and updated throughout the year, so keep coming back!  The job of a counselor encompasses numerous responsibilities relative to helping students through their school years - she wants this to be a tool that can help parents and their students navigate through those years with relevant, timely and useful information.

SAISD schools go on Thanksgiving break Friday and have the full week off from school.  Classes resume Monday, December 2.  Happy Thanksgiving!
