SAISD Students of the Month for February
ELEMENTARY:
The Pre-K Student of the Month for February is Amrie Wade. Amrie is the daughter of James and LaToya Wade. Her teacher is Mrs. Delois Stripling. Amrie is one of the most enthusiastic, “little people” I have ever taught! Her eagerness and willingness to learn is contagious! She listens intently whenever I am teaching and can remember most of it. She knows how to ask relevant questions. Amrie is always willing to help any of her fellow classmates whether they want it or not! It is little people like her that continues to inspire me to teach. Amrie, you are an awesome,” little person” and I am honored to be your first public school teacher!
The Kindergarten Student of the Month for February is Alexis Jackson. Mrs. Birdwell says Alexis is an excellent student. She works hard, is respectful, and always follows the rules. Alexis said that she learned these traits from her role models…her parents Brian and Jennifer Jackson. Alexis has many hobbies such as playing outside, watching basketball and the Dallas Cowboys (they are her favorite). When Alexis grows up, she would like to be a teacher. I feel very blessed to have Alexis in my class and I know she will be successful in every aspect of her life for many years to come. Congratulations Alexis!
The 1st Grade Student of the Month for February is Jayden Lacy. Jayden is the son of Jeremy Lacy and Clorissa Davis. His teacher is Mrs. Anissa Smith. Jayden is a very loving and compassionate child. He is always concerned if one of his classmates is having a bad day or if someone gets upset. He is the first to try to cheer them up. He is always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. Mrs. Smith is very proud of the young man Jayden is becoming and predicts GREAT things for his future!
The 2nd Grade Student of the Month for February is Aura Hernandez. Aura is the daughter of Jose and Yajaira Hernandez. When she grows up the wants to be a Doctor. Her favorite things to do is to learn, watch TV, play with her sisters, and their dog Toby. She enjoys picnics with her family and if she could go anywhere in the world, she would want to go to Galveston!
The 3rd Grade Student of the Month for February is Mariah Bean. Mariah’s favorite class is Science. After school Mariah likes to play with her friends on the playground. When Mariah grows up she would like to be a teacher and help kids learn. After school and on weekends Mariah likes to play basketball, and is part of little dribblers. Mariah is a very loving and sweet girl who likes to spend time with her family and friends. She is the daughter of Conchetta Taylor and Sidney Bean.
The 4th Grade Student of the Month for February is Camden Boyette. Camden is the son of Chad and Jena Boyette. Camden stands out as a determined student that loves to read and keep his brain active and he has the citizenship to claim the 1st place. Camden isn’t all about school though! His hobbies are basketball and gaming, and he likes to hang out with his friends and play football. His favorite thing to do after school is relax and watch TV.
The 5th Grade Student of the Month for February is Nicolette Lara. She is the daughter of Vicki Potts and Ricky Lara. Her favorite subjects in school are science and Reading. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her cousins and Reading. When she grows up she wants to be a singer or a chef. After school she enjoys helping her mom out!

MIDDLE SCHOOL:
The 6th Grade Student of the Month for February is Karissa Jenkins. Karissa is the daughter of Kendrick and Farlesha Jenkins. Her favorite subject is science. Karissa plans to go to college when she completes high school and become a lawyer.
The 7th Grade Student of the Month for February is Kira Palmer. Kira is the daughter of Polly Bluford. Her favorite subject is science. She is involved in band and athletics. Kira plans to start a singing career and study to become a lawyer when she finishes high school.
The 8th Grade Student of the Month for February is Justin Jenkins. Justin is the son of Esther Jenkins and Gary McCoy. His favorite subject is science because of the things he gets to do in Mrs. Terri Mathews' class. He is involved in the Gentlemen's League and 4-H Club. Justin hopes to play college sports and also study to become an underwater welder.

HIGH SCHOOL:
The 9th Grade Student of the Month for February is Christian Tapia. Christian is the son of Laborial and Maria Tapia. His favorite subjects are computer and biology. He is involved in the SAHS band. After high school, Christian plans to attend an Art Institute and study computer programming or video game designing.
The 10th Grade Student of the Month for February is Britney Bluford. Britney is the daughter of Shanta and Carlton Bluford. Her favorite subject is Pre-AP English. She is involved in the Ladies League, cheerleading and power lifting. Britney plans to attend college and become a physical therapist assistant.
The 11th Grade Student of the Month for February is Eriberto Olalde. Eriberto is the son of Fermin and Elizabeth Olalde. His favorite subjects are math and computer class. He is involved in FFA. Eriberto plans to study law enforcement or become an EMT when he finishes high school.
The 12th Grade Student of the Month for February is Ashley Miller. Ashley is the daughter of J.D. and Bonnie Miller. Her favorite subject is math. She is involved in FFA, UIL and DECA. Ashley plans to attend the Lab Tech School at Panola Jr. College and then work in a hospital or clinic.
